Fundraiser for Cancer!

I'm so sorry to have dropped off the blog o'sphere for the past two months. I had dual surgeries last month one of which was to remove my thyroid. I have Hoshimoto's Thyroiditis and had been having some discomfort due to the enlargement of my thyroid. Because I am a hemophiliac, my surgeon did not want to do the surgery. He wanted to keep keeping an eye on it. My mom had thyroid cancer and I felt like I'd rather get rid of it than continue to have expensive procedures done every 6 months to watch it grow. I'm glad I insisted on having the surgery. Although I have an ugly scar (that will improve over time), my pathology came back with Thyroid Papillary Micro-carcinoma. Cancer. Fortunately for the "micro" part, it was less than 1cm in size,  I do not have to have radiation. The course of action would be to remove my thyroid! Since it's gone, I'm cancer free!
I feel very fortunate. It is with this good feeling that I try even harder to raise money and awareness for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life!!

From now until the end of April, I am hosting a fundraiser to benefit the ACS. 35% of the retail sales on my Arbonne website will be donated to the Relay for Life of Fountain Valley Colorado. My goal is to raise $1,000 for my team. Check it out if you're interested! You can make an online purchase and watch for the donation to appear on my Relay website! Sensa, anyone?

In a moment of weakness I clicked on a Sensa ad while I was searching for fitness blogs. I signed right up for the FREE one month trial after watching the testimonial of a well known entertainment reporter. A few days later I did a little more research and found a site with a lot of negative feedback on the product (mostly on the company-all of which was clearly stated in the original disclaimer). I guess no matter what you try you will find positive and negative comments out there! So I guess I'm just wondering if anyone out there has tried this product? It's an interesting theory that has to do with the sense of smell controlling appetite. Last week I started working out and worked out 5 times (didn't get a chance to log all of my workouts on Dailymile, but I try to remember!) I feel great and am sleeping so much better! My Sensa arrived this past weekend so I'm trying it out. I do have more energy and I am having a much easier time sticking to a healthier eating plan (I tend to lack self control with goodies as I was always pretty thin prior to having children). So, we'll see what happens. I am not looking for a way out of exercising, I love it and it makes me feel so good! I just lack will power! :o)

Any feedback (if you tried it) would be greatly appreciated!

At what point does a fever lead to a doctor visit???

At what point to you bring your child to the doctors or the ER? My two-year-old has been running a fever since Friday. The highest temp was 102.4 so my husband and I agreed that we should give him something to treat it once it went above 102. His fever finally broke this morning but my four-year-old came down with a fever of 103 yesterday. Neither of the boys are complaining of any other symptoms. On occasion they will complain of a stomach ache but they are eating fairly well and have no other symptoms. We figure it must be viral and have just been treating the fever. After nap time today, my oldest had a fever of 104! We immediately gave him Ibuprofen, more liquids, and I bought him popsicles. I made an appointment to take him to the doctor's tomorrow. Was it OK to wait??? The never ending inner turmoil of parental decisions!
